Shopping Cart

Project Objective: To develop a positioning system that is capable of detecting the location of a shopping cart in a supermarket.

Project Description: In a supermarket the decision where to put a product is based on the principle of maximizing sales. We can decide at what height on a shelf or in which shelf should we put a product. Usually products with higher margins are put in places where more people pass by. It is not easy to know what is the route that shopper realizes when he is in a supermarket. This project aims to solve this problem by obtaining the localization of a shopping cart in a supermarket using a Wireless Sensor Network and the Receiver Signal Strength Indicator.
